Gift Opportunities

Each of us, simply by our presence, has contributed to the history of the Penn Lambda Chapter. How appropriate that each of our names be entered into its halls. All supporters of the project giving $1,000 and above will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque. All donors contributing $500 or more to the campaign will be recognized in campaign publications, unless otherwise requested. Names will appear by category, relative to the size of their gift. Gifts in honor or in memory of Brothers, as well as family and pledge class gifts, are welcomed. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree.

The Internal Revenue Service will allow "exclusively educational" space in the renovated Chapter House to be funded with outright grants of tax-deductible dollars that are paid into the Phi Kappa Psi Endowment Fund. Additionally, the Foundation may, on an annual basis, grant the Penn Lambda Corporation an amount that covers the taxes, insurance, and maintenance on the portion of the building deemed by the IRS as "exclusively educational" space.

Only a portion of the project is deemed "exclusively educational," which means there is a need for gifts that are not tax deductible to complete the project in its entirety.

Because of the magnitude of Penn Lambda’s need, we urge all Brothers to consider major gifts to the campaign. To help donors make the largest gift possible, pledges may be spread over a fiveyear period. Early lead gifts to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Gifts of securities are encouraged, as there are often significant tax advantages to the donor. For professional advice, please consult your tax advisor.
