Chi Upsilon Sigma :
Chi Upsilon Sigma was founded in April 29th 1980 in the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers University as the first independent Latina sorority in the nation. No matter the state or the chapter the mission of Chi Upsilon Sigma remains the same: to empower and inspire WOMEN of all ethnicities to continue to gain wisdom through education, to educate the community in each state, chapter and college campus about the issues faced not only by minorities but by human beings of all parts of the world, and to promote a positive image of the minority community everywhere we go.
