Football Challenge
Every year AOII holds a football challenge tournament where sororities, fraternities, and other organizations are welcome to come and play football! This past year, we hosted it in the front yard of the brothers of Lambda Chi. The sisters act as the coaches and referees for the tournament. There are free food, t-shirts, and prizes for the players! Each team pays a fee to enter, and all the money goes towards our national philanthropy, Arthritis research. This is a great opportunity for sisters to bond, have fun, and give back to the community!!
THON
Alpha Omicron Pi-Epsilon Alpha Chapter proudly supports the IFC/Panhellenic Penn State Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world!! THON's mission is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding financial and emotional support for the kids, families, researchers, and staff of The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Our year-round work culminates into a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon where we celebrate, remember, and let kids be kids!
THON weekend 2011 was February 18-20, where Penn State raised a recording breaking $9.56 MILLION dollars! We raised over $130,000 with the brothers of Sigma Chi, placing us as the 6th highest amount raised in the Greek Organization category. We are also lucky to have two amazing THON families that we keep in touch with all year—The Karoly's and The Hochberger's.
