Recruitment
About
Recommendation FormThe strength and image of each chapter and the sorority depends on each chapter's ability to attain and maintain Quota and Panhellenic Total. Gamma Phi Beta's philosophy states:
"In order to strengthen the quality and prestige of our sisterhood, growth is essential. It is the privilege and responsibility of each chapter to ensure this growth through a carefully planned, rehearsed and effectively implemented recruitment program resulting in maximum chapter size."
Mutually selective membership is the major expressed purpose of recruitment, but it is not the exclusive purpose. During the recruitment period, contact will be made with many young women who may not pledge at that time. Consideration should be given to the inevitable effect recruitment has on the campus community as a whole, including independents, faculty, administrators, as well as local residents. These people are obviously not going to pledge. Nevertheless, they may be presented with an informative and positive impression of the Greek community. Recruitment is the foremost yearly public relations campaign presented by any Greek organization. The results of recruiting are indicative of how well each sorority on campus has informed and convinced the potential members of the desirability of affiliating with the Greek community and a particular chapter.
