What is CASA?
In 1989
Kappa Alpha Theta designated Court Appointed Special Advocates as it's
official philanthropy. CASA recruits volunteers to speak for the best
interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom. These
volunteers must go through an intensive training program and then
provide valuable insights about the individual child which aid the
judge in making final decisions. Over the years, Thetas from around
the country have helped to donate over $796,000 to the National CASA
Association.
How does Theta get involved with CASA?
Thetas from college
chapters around the country help support CASA by raising money for
CASA programs, providing office support, making care packages and toys
for CASA children, and sponsoring philanthropy events for CASA
children.
