RUSH OMEGA PHI ALPHA

Hi Ladies!

My name is Erica Hernandez and I am the Rush Chair for the Alpha Theta Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha. Founded in 1967, Omega Phi Alpha is a national service sorority that has 21 chapters across the United States. We have been an active chapter of Omega Phi Alpha since 2006.

As associate members of the Panhellenic Council, we participate in many of the same activities as other Panhellenic Sororities, including Homecoming, THON, and Greek Week. What sets us apart is our commitment to service in the Penn State community and beyond, instilling in our girls what it truly means to give back to a community that has given so much to us.

Another thing that sets us apart is our choice not to participate in formal recruitment. We feel that it is important to create a unique experience for our girls, so we hold rush events on our own. Rush lasts just one week, and includes opportunities to get to know the sisters and participate in a service event.
With a cap of 50 girls, Omega Phi Alpha has a close, family feel that is hard to find anywhere else. I think I speak for all my sisters when I say that our commitment to service and to our sisterhood creates an experience that will affect our lives for years to come.

This semester, come out and meet the sisters of Omega Phi Alpha at our rush events. Anyone is welcome to attend! In the meantime, feel free to email me at ech5048@psu.edu with any questions. We look forward to meeting you!

"Today's friends, tomorrow's leaders, forever in service."
