BIO: It was an overwhelming first year at Penn State in a school bigger than my
hometown without anyone I knew. I found my strong, innovative, creative, and
determined self during my freshman year… but something was still missing. In
the beginning of my sophomore year I realized just what that something was…
Joining a sorority was the best decision I have made with my time as a
Nittany Lion. My college life is now coming to a close and when I look back
I see that it has been full of philanthropy events, volunteer work, sports,
and friends that I will have for the rest of my life. Being a sister of Zeta
Tau Alpha has connected me to women across the nation with an unbreakable
bond that I will continue even after I am handed my diploma. Inspire, love,
dream, and Go GREEK!
Goals: My goal is to continue my work in sports and public relations and one day become the next Erin Andrews. I am currently a sports information director for the men’s golf team at Penn State and I love it. I also have the privilege to work with ESPN during football games and that has been a blast!
Why I joined: I really was passionate about Penn State and wanted to be as involved as possible. Not only was Zeta a way to get involved; they offered me so many opportunities to get involved outside of the sorority and in the State College community as a whole.
My sisters: The girls of Zeta Tau Alpha are inspiring and ambitious in everything they do. Each one of them has a heart of gold and a unique life story. It is amazing how so many diverse girls can come together and bond in the way that we have.
My advice: My advice is to give everything a chance… try everything once and if you’re not so sure about it, try it again. There is something for everyone at Penn State and joining a sorority gives you that opportunity. You have four years to make something of yourself… push yourself and prove to yourself that you are worth the best and go for it. Take other’s opinions and process them and then form your own. I promise you if you just stay true to yourself and honor what you stand for your life path will form right in front of your eyes.
Activities: Within Greek life I am on the overall committee of Greek Sing. I am also the sports information director for the Penn State men’s golf team. I work in the athletic communications department at Penn State for all varsity sports including the football team. I am a peer mentor in the college of communications, a Homecoming public relations captain, and a volunteer at Centre County PAWS. I love intramural sports and participate in flag football and volleyball each year. Staying active and involved is so easy at Penn State and it is the best ways to meet new people!!
Favorite Song: Free Falling by Tom Petty… and it will be for the rest of my life!
Favorite Book: A prayer for Owen Meany
Hobbies: singing, running, tennis, reading, and watching football!
Favorite place: 50-yard line at Beaver Stadium
